I create images as a way to introduce a story. I find the relationship between word and image beautiful in their inevitable conflicts. Both have come to be defined by the use of other words and images, but always lacking a definition that could be definitive. Their meanings are at the expense of their viewer, the viewer's personal histories, and their surroundings. The faces I create are a collage of many. A series of mirrors and masks. They are unspecific to an individual while still reflecting individuality. |
